5. The Labyrinth as a Spiritual Tool

The Chartres Labyrinth

This labyrinth design is found in the gothic medieval cathedral in Chartres, Frances, southwest of Paris. While there are many variations of labyrinth designs found all over the world, this particular design serves to anchor the labyrinth renaissance of today. Why? No one knows for sure, but when photos or drawings of different labyrinth designs are placed side by side, the Chartres image tends to attract the eye. Its pattern reflects a harmonious geometry that invites the person in.
