Join the UTUUC Women’s Connection for the 2026 Women’s Retreat at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, IL. We will again offer options to attend the retreat for the whole weekend as well as Saturday only (commuter).
Let’s get a start on 2026 as we prepare for whatever comes our way in the new year. Join us for our Saturday morning keynote feature: “A World Cafe on Care, Connection, Conversation and Community” facilitated by Anne White. The theme reminds us of why we come together in an annual retreat located in a beautiful location.
The World Café is designed to help people get to know one another better in a relaxed and informal space. Working in small groups the World Cafe encourages participants to hold authentic conversations around questions that matter most. Anne creates a safe space where participants are encouraged to be the “keynote” speakers of their lives.
Anne White is a trained group facilitator who thrives on guiding conversations using the World Cafe method. She has designed and facilitated several World Cafes for both the Women’s Connection and the Unity Temple congregation. Anne is a former nonprofit executive having spent most of her career creating organizational and community change with a focus on leadership development while using nature as a classroom. She has been an active member of Unity Temple since moving to Oak Park from Washington, DC in 2008.
This year’s retreat will include two workshop sessions Saturday afternoon. Some offerings are Improv Games, Collaging, Guided Imagery, Loving Kindness Meditation, Drum Circle, Felties, Outdoor Meditation and more. All retreat registrants will receive via email descriptions of workshops in January and will then be able to indicate workshop preferences.
In addition, we will have our craft table, Dance Friday, Saturday Sharing Show, craft table, massage and yoga. We will also include our Spiritual Ceremonies and gatherings: Friday evening Ingathering, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning closing.
Weekend registration includes five meals (one Friday, three Saturday and one Sunday). All rooms have a full bath, and two twin beds. Check-in time is 5:00-7:00 on Friday-notify us if you are going to be later. You may register to have a room as a single, or as a double with a roommate (see prices below). We are anticipating on having plenty of bedrooms available to give women their choice of single or double, but this is not guaranteed so register early!
Saturday only registration includes 3 meals. Saturday check-in is 7:00-8:45 am.
Scholarships: If you would like to attend but would require some financial assistance, please contact Maureen Crotty in confidence at 708-603-5560 by JANUARY 25, 2026. Funds are limited, but we will try to help those who apply by the deadline.
